China’s Alibaba to Buy $550 Million Stake in India’s One97 Communications
Good news for US shareholders owning shares of Alibaba. The Chinese-based company is expanding its operations into other countries with a large online payment markets. According to Reuters, China’s Alibaba Group Holding Ltd and its unit Alipay are in advanced talks to buy a stake for about $550 million in India’s One97 Communications, which owns an online payment platform, sources directly involved in the transaction said.
